On 12th August 2021 the state government announced further business grants (totaling $367 million) funded jointly by the Commonwealth and the State Government, to businesses that are most affected by the extension of the lockdown in Melbourne.

The new initiative includes:

 

Business Costs Assistance Program

Businesses who had previously received grants from the Business Costs Assistance Program will automatically receive another payment of $2,800 within the next 7 business days.

 

Licensed Hospitality Venue Fund 2021

Venues who had previously received or been approved grants under the Licenses Hospitality Venue Fund will automatically receive another payment in the coming weeks. 

Payment amounts will be tiered according to premises capacity: $5,000 for a capacity of up to 99 patrons, $10,000 for a capacity of 100 to 499 patrons and $20,000 for a capacity of 500-plus.

 

Small Business COVID Hardship Fund

Grants to be paid from the previously announced Small Business COVID Hardship Fund have now increased further from $8,000 to $10,000.
 

This grant is open to businesses that were ineligible for other business support programs (in particular the Business Costs Assistance Program and The Licensed Hospitality Venue Fund) and have experienced a reduction in revenue of at least 70%.  Further details of eligibility is expected to be announced when it is open for application.
